MEN’S 18 HOLE TROPHIES
The Crofton Cup: 2019 Champion – Stephen Elwes
The Crofton Cup was presented to the club by the Crofton Family in 1948 and signifies the Men’s Gross Champion. This cup is played over 36 holes of medal play.
The Captains Cup: 2019 Champion – Ian Shopland
Donated by Captain Mike Morgan in 2002. The Captains Cup is awarded to the Senior (55 & Over) Men’s Low Gross Champion after 36 Holes of medal play.
The Humphries Cup: 2019 Champion – Stephen Elwes
In 1988, Gil Humphries donated this trophy to the golf club. This trophy is awarded to the Men’s Net Champion after 36 holes of medal play.
The Schwengers Cup: 2019 Champion – Kerry Marshall
Mr. C.P. Schwengers, a Victoria businessman who officially opened the club presented this trophy. The Schwengers Cup goes to the low net score over 18 holes of medal play.
The Parsons Cup: 2019 Champion – Mike Winter
Ray, Gordon and Doug Parsons honoured the memory of their father with their 1972 presentation of the (Ted) “Parsons Cup”. This is a men’s senior (55 and over) competition and is a match play tourney using handicaps.
The Butt and Brown Cups: 2019 Butt Cup Champion – Keith Kruger The Butt Cup, presented by Tom Butt in 1977 is awarded for the senior player’s low net score over 18 holes. It is played for in conjunction with the Brown Cup.
The Brown Cup: 2019 Brown Cup Champion – Randy Miron The Brown Cup, presented by Buzz Brown in 1977, is awarded for the senior player’s low gross over 18 holes.
The Jensen Cup: 2019 Champion – Bob Woodhouse
In 1962 George Jensen presented the senior’s Trophy, Jensen Cup, to a senior over 70 years (young) The award is for the low net score played over 9 holes of medal play.
The Mouat Cup: 2019 Champion – Ian Shopland
The Mouat Cup was presented first in 1946 and recognized the low gross score achieved over 18 holes of medal play. The original of this trophy was lost in the 1959 fire and was subsequently replaced by Mac Mouat.
The Morris Cup: 2019 Champion – Ian Shopland
The Morris Cup is competed for in conjunction with the Mouat Cup competition and is awarded to the golfer who records the low net score. It was presented by Mr. B. Morris.
The Matson Cup: 2019 Champion – Jordan Haenen
Jack Matson presented the cup bearing his name in 1931. It has two flights. Cup flight is match play, no handicaps, while consolation flight is match play with handicaps.
The Lucky Mashie Trophy: 2019 Champions – Tony Faulkner/ Kerry Westfield
A fairly recent addition to our trophy collection, the Lucky Mashie Trophy was donated by Ralph Cossey and is awarded annually in the Men’s Handicap Two Ball Best Ball Tournament. The tournament is played each summer and is an 18 hole competition.
The Bambrick Cup: 2019 Champion – Ardmore
The competition is traditionally an interclub island tournament with 3 legs, one played at Salt Spring, Ardmore, and Pender. The 3 different trophy competitions are the Bambrick Trophy for team total points, the Applby Trophy for team low net, and the Alf Evens Trophy for individual low gross.
